McCoy Tyner is an American pianist who was a core member of the John Coltrane Quartet from 1960 onwards and played superbly on such historical classics as Coltrane, Ballad, Love Supreme and Ascention. This is his album releasedd in 1967 from Blue Note. A quartet with Joe Henderson, Ron Carter and Elvin Jones. It is a masterpiece of McCoy's work, including A1, which opens with a memorable theme, and A2, which has a wonderful spiritual orientation, inheriting Coltrane's design. This is a reissue US edition released in 1973.
