An album released in 1986 by Monty Alexander, a jazz pianist representing Jamaica, a reggae powerhouse. It features live recordings from a concert held at Valentye's in Orlando, Florida, in the same year, with a quartet including Reggie Johnson (b), Ed Thigpen (ds), and Robert Thomas, Jr. (per). Alexander delivers a superb performance, ranging from tropical numbers unique to him to mellow ballads. Highlights include A1, a Latin-infused rendition of a song from an album released in 1985 by his ex-wife, guitarist Emily Remler, who also performed as a member of Hank Crawfordno Quintet and The Crayton Brothers; A2, an elegant mambo-style cover of a jazz standard that was an insert song from the 1956 American film "Scarlet Hour"; and B3, a cool cover of Miles Davis's classic "Milestones." The slow number B2, with its refreshing feel reminiscent of Masaru Imada's masterpiece "Remember of Love" on Three Blind Mice, is also excellent.

A1: Catwalk
A2: Never Let me Go
