This is an album released in 1986 by koto player Nanae Yoshimura, who also participated in the acclaimed modern music masterpiece Individuality of Four Musicians, featured in the column of the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION. In addition to Yoshimura's solo koto performances, the album includes duets with shakuhachi player Takufū Mitsuhashi and cellist Hakurō Mori, both of whom also participated in the aforementioned work. The composers featured on the album are Akira Nishimura, Takashi Yoshimatsu, Minoru Miki, and Toshiya Sukegawa. The content is exceptional, combining the strengths of traditional Japanese music with a contemporary approach. The recording beautifully captures the fine-grained particles of sound as they scatter across the soundscape. Highly recommended.
