This innovative total concept album was released in 1976 by Neil Ardley, a British jazz pianist active since the early 1970s. This is the white vinyl pressing released in 1987 by Line Records in Germany. Featuring renowned UK jazz-rock artists such as Ian Carr, Dave Macrae, and Barbra Thompson, as well as a full orchestra, this is a new form of jazz orchestra where orchestrated performances by jazz musicians and electronics are beautifully fused around a shuffle beat. As the title suggests, the cosmic sound shimmers and flickers like a kaleidoscope of rainbows in this magnificent masterpiece.
