From the Nonesuch Explorer Series, a prestigious American label that releases a wide range of contemporary and ethnic music, this is a field recording compilation of local music from South Pacific countries. It includes B10, a local music from Western Samoa, which shifts from a chant ensemble to a fast percussion rhythm, and B14, a local music from Tahiti, which has a wonderfully powerful and beautiful chorus with a heartfelt and peaceful energy. This album contains many folklore music from various islands such as Solomon Islands and Cook Islands.
