This is a masterpiece album released in 1982 by Orchestre Les Mangelepa, a group formed in 1976 in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Although Kenya is an East African country facing the Indian Ocean, it is also very close to Congo (Zaire), so the music is a mixture of gentle rumba rhythms with elements of Congo rock and Nigerian Afro-beats. The bright horns and the warm vocals/chorus make for a groovy highlife that sways pleasantly from start to finish. I recommend the whole album, but the laid-back 3-beat Afro gem A2 is the best of all.
