This 1987 album is a leader album by the British saxophonist Peter King, who was a member of Johnny Dankworth's jazz orchestra since the 1960s. He also participated in recording sessions for artists like Georgie Fame and Al Martino. The album features Philippe Briand on drums, Ricardo del Fra on bass, Pete Jacobsen on piano, and Jakez Moreau on percussion. It contains live recordings from a performance in Lorient, Brittany, France, in 1984. While predominantly playing straight-ahead hard bop, the album also delivers the delightful Latin/Brazilian jazz vibes of A2, where the conga and drum beats dance energetically. B2, featuring a soulful rendition of a jazz standard, is also highly recommended.
