American saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, who joined John Coltrane's group in the mid-60s and suggested a new form of jazz together, continued his work after Coltrane's death, and left many spiritual jazz masterpieces. This is a leader album released in 1967. It features Dave Burrell (p), Warren Sharrock (g), Roger Blank (ds), Henry Grimes (b), and Nat Bettis (per). A1 is a masterpiece that opens with a thunderous distorted guitar introduction of various organically resonating sounds, followed by a break with piccolo flute gently dancing, and then develops into a heavenly flying ethnic jazz. B1 has a pleasant oriental feel with a Japanese theme. This is a masterpiece from the early days when Pharoah's ethnicity began to become evident in their thinking. This is a remastered 80's version with direct cutting using DMM, and the sound quality is clear and different from the original.
