Ralph Towner, the lyrical guitarist/multi-instrumentalist known as a key member of the ethnic jazz group Oregon, and for numerous collaborations with ECM artists such as Gary Burton, John Abercrombie, Egberto Gismonti, and Keith Jarrett, as well as many excellent solo works, released this 2nd solo album from ECM in 1974. This entire album features overdubs of Ralph Towner's 12-string guitar, classical guitar, piano, and gong, creating a tranquil soundscape reminiscent of the artwork, and emotional developments that stir the soul. His signature style was already established at this early stage. It's good to listen to intently indoors, or just as good to listen to in nature. This is the Japanese edition released in 1980 as part of the "ECM 10th Anniversary Collections" to commemorate ECM's 10th anniversary.
