This is the 1984 debut album by American singer Rebecca Parris, who has collaborated with numerous legendary jazz musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, and Woody Herman. Released on the independent label of Parris's uncle, Blair McClosky, a globally recognized vocal coach, the album showcases a range of jazz standards and original compositions. Parris's husky vocals and the accompanying performances create a remarkably pleasing vibe, elevating the album to a level that belies its independent status. Be sure to listen to the urban and adult atmosphere of the mellow jazz track A3, as well as the spiritual rendition of a classic by Freddie Hubbard in B1, which was released in 1979.

A3: We were One
B1: Little Sunflower
