Richie Cole & Eric Kloss

Seven Seas (Japan) 1980
K22P-6031 (LP) w/insert, label catalog (light dirts, color-faded).
sleeve : VG+(wear on corner, dirts.)
media : EX+/EX+(some slightly surface noises. still good condition.)

This is the duo album by Richie Cole, an American saxophonist who emerged from the ranks of Berklee College of Music in 1969, playing with Buddy Rich's orchestra and joining Lionel Hampton's group in 1973, and Eric Kloss, a precocious saxophonist who began his professional career at the age of 12 and made his recording debut at age 16 with Don Patterson's "Introducing Eric Kloss" album. The quintet featured Mickey Tucker (el-p), Rick Laird (b), and Eddie Gladden (ds). Recorded live at The Tin Palace jazz club in New York City in 1976. The quintet opened with a funky rhythm section backed by bright unison on the soul-jazz A1, and played in a very groovy and moody manner from start to finish. Both musicians sound like their alter egos.
