This is the 1978 masterpiece by Puerto Rican percussionist Roberto Roena and his group Apollo Sound X, whose sixth album was featured in the first edition of "Obscure Sound" guidebook. Apollo Sound X, who also played with El Gran Combo and Fania All Stars, has a long list of great albums under his belt, and this one is no exception, with its extremely primitive and tropical Latin percussion beats, colourful brass ensemble and excellent arrangements that combine tropical and urban sensibilities. This is a beautiful Japanese pressing in 1986.
