Haja Queen Salawa Abeni and Her Waka Modernisers
Vol.11 - Ikilo
Leader (Nigeria) 198x
LRCLS 34 (LP)
sleeve : VG+(SRW, wear on surface and corner, color-faded.)
media : VG/VG+(some slightly noise caused by slightly wear, some light pop noise, several raised pressing-error, but they do not affect playback.)

An album by Nigerian Yoruba singer Haja Queen Salawa Abeni, crowned the queen of waka music after her 1976 debut became a million-seller. This one appears to date from around 1982–83. Carrying on the waka tradition—the Yoruba root of both juju and fuji—she rides simple yet deeply infectious percussion led by talking drum, while her distinctive, Islam-influenced vocal lines and chorus drift beautifully through a lush veil of reverb. A wonderfully danceable set, and like classic juju and fuji recordings, the pieces are performed entirely non-stop from start to finish. Highly recommended.

There are several pressing-error on the surface, especially on side A, but they do not so appear to affect playback.
