Santoor
His Master’s Voice (India) 1975
ECSD 2457 (LP) Red label
sleeve : VG+(SOC, TEOC, light wear on edge and corner, SOC on label of side A.)
media : EX-/EX-(some light surface noises and clock noises.)

This is a masterpiece album released in 1970 by Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, one of the leading santoorists of North Indian classical Hindustani music, who has been active since the 1960s and has released more than 100 works. This is a reissue from 1975, featuring tabla by Kashinath Mishra. This is a wonderful performance in which you can enjoy the beautiful sound of the santur throughout the album, from the introduction with a slow meditative melody, to the raga with the tabla that gradually rises in tension, to the final part with a gentle rhythm and warm melody after the climax. Highly recommended. The album is relatively clean with no scratches, but there is some light surface noise. Please note that this is an Indian pressing.
