An album released in 1970 by The Camarata Contemporary Chamber Group, led by Tutti Camarata, who arranged for a variety of jazz musicians including Benny Goodman and Louis Armstrong, as well as orchestras. This album features intriguing arrangements of works by the French composer Erik Satie, a pivotal figure who greatly influenced Debussy, Ravel, and laid the foundation for later contemporary music, and ambient. Satie's compositions from the late 19th to early 20th century are performed here, arranged for chamber music and electronic sounds, making for a fascinating listening experience. With gentle tones of guitar, reeds, strings, and the delicate sound of wind chimes, the ensemble delivers beautifully crafted arrangements. Moreover, the bold use of the Moog synthesizer adds an eccentric touch to the electronic compositions, making them equally captivating. Do give it a listen.
