An album marking the first installment of the <Miniatur> series, which brings together works by Japan's great composer, Toru Takemitsu, who transcended the boundaries of contemporary music to explore various experimental approaches to composition. Featuring renowned interpreters of Takemitsu's works such as Yuji Takahashi (piano) and Ryu Noguchi (flute), as well as the globally acclaimed marimba player Keiko Abe, this release showcases chamber music that highlights the essence of Takemitsu's artistry. The album includes a series of works centered on guitar and lute, a quartet featuring harp, vibraphone, celesta/piano (A1), a trio for flute, Terz guitar, and lute (B1), and "Sonant," a piece originally presented at the Contemporary Music Festival hosted by the Institute of 20th Century Music in 1965, rewritten here with Takahashi performing on Hammond organ (B2). These compositions capture the distinctive brilliance of Takemitsu's music as promised by the album's tagline.
