This album, released in 1979 by composer/synthesizer player Frank W. Becker, who collaborated with contemporary musicians like Toru Takemitsu and Joji Yuasa during his 14-year stay in Japan. The album features performances with renowned Yokobue (Japanese transverse flute) player Michiko Akao, known for her masterpieces such as "Yokobue Fantasy," "Wind Dance," and "Yokobue/Akao Michiko's World." It showcases traditional Japanese instruments like shō, taiko drums, and kakko drums commonly used in gagaku music. Frank W. Becker utilized a wide range of Roland gear, including Synthesizer 101/102, JP-4, Vocoder VP 330, and Space Echo RE201, to create a synth music piece inspired by mythological worlds reminiscent of the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, such as the creation of heaven and earth and solar eclipses. The combination of synthesizer's profound sounds and traditional Japanese instruments is truly remarkable.
