An album released in 1988 by American artist Harold Budd, who, during his military service, performed as a drummer with Albert Ayler. Since the early 1970s, he began composing in the fields of contemporary and experimental music, gaining recognition as an ambient artist through works such as his collaborations with Brian Eno on the Ambient series. The album was recorded at Palladium in Edinburgh, Cocteau Twins Studio in London, and The Wilderness in Suffolk, with Brian Eno handling engineering on track B2. While characterized by serene ambient tones utilizing long-tone pad sounds and pentatonic scale arpeggios, it also embraces an experimental edge, resulting in an immersive soundscape reminiscent of Terry Riley and Peter Michael Hamel—highly recommended.

There is a small pressing-error on track B4, but it has little to no impact on playback.

A4: The Real Dream of Sails
