American composer Peter Buffett, who launched his music career in early ’80s San Francisco, handling recording and production for local artists, composing music for commercials, and later contributing score work for the film Dances with Wolves, released this debut album in 1987. Built around the Synclavier digital audio system and richly layered with Japanese-made digital synthesizers such as the Roland D-50 and Yamaha DX-7, the album unfolds a dreamy, electronic New Age sound closely aligned with the aesthetic of releases on Private Music, the label helmed by former Tangerine Dream member Peter Baumann.
