A mysterious Korean record has arrived, supposedly produced by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), composed by Choi Se-yong and performed by the Young Pops Orchestra led by keyboardist Taek-Sang Nam and producer Kim Young. The rest of the story is unknown. It's called "Love Player Vol. 4" and seems to be part of a series, but I don't know the details here either. It's probably a soundtrack for a TV show, so it's like a library record, with everything from new-age synthesizers to easy listening, but the highlight is the B-side, which has one track over 24 minutes long. With trippy synthesizers and psychedelic band sounds, it's a dazzling example of progressive new age with a style reminiscent of artists like Akira Itoh and Fumio Miyashita from Far East Family Band. The Magritte-like artwork is also good. Korean music is very deep.
