This 1979 album by Naples-born vocalist Alan Sorrenti, who was also featured in the first edition of the guidebook Obscure Sound for his early acid folk masterpiece, marks a significant shift in his musical direction. While his early works were characterized by progressive, psychedelic folk, he gradually transitioned toward a more pop-oriented style in the latter half of the 1970s. This album, recorded in the United States, showcases a complete transformation into adult-oriented disco. It features numerous light and breezy AOR disco tracks, including El Coco-like disco numbers where melancholic electric piano and female backing vocals dance seductively. Sorrenti’s soprano voice beautifully complements the bright, medium-tempo funk with sparkling horns and strings, creating an irresistibly breezy AOR sound.
