This 1989 release by Brazilian singer Amélia Rabello—sister of guitarists Raphael Rabello and Luciana Rabello, and a contributor to recordings by Maria Creuza, Paulinho da Viola, and Martinho da Vila—is her only album ever issued on vinyl. Produced with full support from her husband, Cristovão Bastos (known for his collaborations with Marco Pereira), and Paulo César Pinheiro, a singer-songwriter active since the ’70s and husband of her sister Luciana, the album also features appearances by Raphael and Luciana. Opening with a duet with Paulinho da Viola on an A1 track written by Baden Powell and Vinicius de Moraes, the record presents a refined, adult-oriented MPB sound throughout—where Amélia’s husky yet silky vocals shine against exceptional songwriting, arrangements, and performances. Highly recommended.
