A brilliant fourth solo album released in 1981 by Baby Consuelo, vocalist of the samba-rock group Os Novos Baianos from Bahia, Brazil — and undoubtedly a true masterpiece. The album features contributions from fellow Os Novos Baianos members and brothers Pepeu Gomes (guitar), Jorginho Gomes (drums), and Gigi Gomes (bass), among others. Side A includes a cover of Jorge Ben’s cosmic classic (A1), a samba-rock disco track with vibrant jazz-rock-influenced guitar work (A2), and a reggae tune with tropical flavors (A3). The entire album is filled with funky and mellow tropical Brazilian grooves. Consuelo’s husky vocals are absolutely superb. Japanese promo copy.
