This is the 8th album by British singer-songwriter John Martyn, who began his career in the late 1960s, released in 1977. While deeply rooted in the blues and country influences of his earlier work, this album also incorporates synthesizers and bold effects into its rock sound. It gives off a sense of being a precursor to Grace & Danger, the mellow Balearic rock masterpiece released the following year and featured in the first edition of guidebook Obscure Sound. The rare groove vibe unique to this period is incredibly cool. Highly recommended are tracks B3 and B4, while the meditative atmosphere of the closing track A4 is also particularly captivating.

A4: Small Hours
B3: Smiling Stranger
B4: Big Muff
