Released in 1983, this is Yamashita Tatsuro's 10th 7" single, and the A-side "Koukiatsu Girl" was the first single cut from his album "Melodies" released in the same year. The combination of lightly shuffling cutting guitar and polyrhythmic percussion on this song epitomizes Yamashita's sound at the time. The B-side "Darlin'" is a cover of a song from "Wild Honey" released in 1967 by The Beach Boys, whom Yamatatsu admired. The arrangement of this song is also very refreshing, and except for the horn section, Yamashita himself played everything on the song and overdubbed it.
A: 高気圧ガール
