The fourth album in the Ambient series, released in 1978 by British musician Brian Eno, who began his career as a member of the British rock band Roxy Music. Ambient music was inspired by Erik Satie's concept of "furniture music", which defines music as an environment in urban life. Titled "On Land", is a historical masterpiece, with a super deep ambient world of synthesizer drones spreading ethereally as if looking towards the far horizon. The back of the cover shows an illustration of the Ambient Speaker System. Inoyamaland's album "Dangindangposidon", produced by Haruomi Hosono, is a tribute to this album, including the artwork. The liner notes include a commentary by Satoshi Ashikawa, who worked with Hiroshi Yoshimura as one of Japan's foremost experts on ambient music.
