The Italian experimental group Engel Der Vernichtung, consisting of Federico Festuccia, Daniele Arisi, and Roberto Feliciangeli, released their masterpiece 1st album in 1988 on a private label. This work showcases a mysterious blend of ambient electronic music with a distinctive contemporary aesthetic. It features a modern classical decadence expressed through a perfect balance of piano-centered sound, electronic tones utilizing synthesizers, samplers, and sequencers. Notable tracks include A3, where the ensemble of electric piano and guitar creates a majestic atmosphere; B2, with its melancholic ambient electronics floating through digital synthesizer sounds; and B3, a stunning piece featuring a beautiful interplay of acoustic guitar and piano, complemented by ethereal vocal work. Highly recommended.
B2: Les Portes de la Ville de Karnaq
B3: Waterbirds Watercolours
