A masterpiece album released in 1976 by Friedrich Gulda, one of Austria’s most renowned jazz pianists, who had been active at the forefront of both jazz and classical music since the early 1950s. This work is a collaboration with German percussionist Ursula Anders.
Side A begins with a solo on an electric clavichord, producing a tone reminiscent of an electric guitar, before transitioning into Anders’ aggressive percussion solo and unfolding into a dramatic duo performance. Side B moves from a serene passage into a spacious, tension-filled soundscape, showcasing highly avant-garde contemporary music throughout.
An extraordinary work—highly recommended.
