This is the eighth album released in 1978 on Brian Eno's Obscure label, featuring works by British composer John White, known for his extensive catalogue of piano sonatas, and fellow British composer Gavin Bryars, internationally renowned for compositions such as The Sinking of the Titanic. On the A-side, White presents four minimalist works, performed by himself along with Bryars, Eno, Michael Nyman, and Christopher Hobbs. The B-side features Bryars' composition, a long-form piece of minimal music with dissonant harmonies played by four guitars, with contributions from Bryars, Eno, Derek Bailey, and Fred Frith. This is a historically significant masterpiece. Original UK pressing.
