This 1988 album is by Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares, a world-renowned Bulgarian traditional music project founded by Marcel Cellier, a Swiss producer also known as a musicologist and organist. It was released on the UK independent label 4AD. There's an anecdote that Peter Murphy introduced the music of Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares to 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell, leading to the release of this album. The female vocals, rich in overtones from their unique vocalization technique, are layered in multiple ways, creating an ineffably beautiful ensemble that feels like it's leading you to heaven. This is wonderful, timeless music. Highly recommended.
