A 10-inch single released in 2020 by Copenhagen-based composer Mads Emil Nielsen on his own label, Arbitrary. A collaboration with Katja Gretzinger and Nicla Ratti, this experimental electronic music work interprets visual material subjectively and accompanies the sound with visual notation. The finely layered and deeply nuanced electronic textures create an outstandingly graphical sound. Containing 18 scores and recordings, the release comes as a 10-inch record and CD. In addition to Nielsen’s audio, it includes riso-printed graphic scores designed by Gretzinger, a concept that adds a visual dimension to the music and is particularly noteworthy. CD is missing.
