Ajagara - Solo Drums
D.Y.M. Records (US) 1980
DYM 003 (LP)
sleeve : EX(slightly color-faded.)
media : EX-/VG+(A1 and B1 has slightly wear. side B has light warp, but plays fine.)

From free jazz duo with Motoki Takagi and Ryuichi Sakamoto, to sessions with Milford Graves and Derek Bailey, to reconstructing and playing instruments from the Jomon and Yayoi periods, Toshiyuki Tsuchitori has always pursued his own unique style of music. This album was released in 1980, and produced during the period when he was based in New York. The three tracks on the A-side and B2 are solo drum/percussion improvisations recorded at Soundscape in New York in July 1980. B1 is an African drum ensemble recorded in Nigeria in 1978 with local musicians. Both are wonderful performances, where the energy of the most primal impulses reverberates through the cells.

This is an archival copy that we have opened the shrink wrap to check the condition. Side B has light warp, but plays no problem. We confirmed this by regenerating the needle weight at 1.3g. The label on side A can be leveled by pressing the label part lightly, and it can be played stably.

A1: Drumythm 1 solo improvisation
B1: Drumythm 4 african drums ensemble
B2: Drumythm 5 solo improvisation
