A four-LP box set released in 1970 as part of Philips' Prospective 21e Siècle series, curated by François Bayle and Pierre Henry, both renowned for their contributions to experimental and contemporary music. This incredible compilation brings together electronic music from composers active in Paris, Tokyo, Utrecht, and Warsaw. From Japan, the set features works by Toshiro Mayuzumi, Makoto Moroi, Maki Ishii, and Minao Shibata. In addition, it includes pieces by the curators themselves—Bayle and Henry—along with a collaborative work by Henry and Pierre Schaeffer, as well as contributions from Luc Ferrari and other esteemed artists. The collection also showcases rare electronic music from Dutch and Polish composers, making it a compilation of immense historical and cultural significance.
