Japanese percussionist Yasukazu Amemiya, who studied timpani with Saul Goodman and percussion with Paul Price at the New York Philharmonic and played with various symphony orchestras, released this album in 1977. The King of Denmark" by Motton Feldman, but the two most notable pieces are "Summer Prayer ("Natsu Nebutsu")" and "Monochrome Sea", both composed by Amemiya himself. He performs solo, using a huge array of percussion instruments and tapes, to create a dynamic percussion music that will make you feel as if you were watching a spectacular picture scroll of the Lotus Sutra.
