Drummer Michael Shrieve has been a member of Santana since its inception, and has also participated in the groups Klaus Schulze and Stomu Yamash'ta, and has left behind such solo masterpieces as "Transfer Station Blue", "In Suspect Terrain", and "Big Picture". This album was released in 1988 and co-written by American synthesist Steve Roach, who has also released works on the prestigious krautrock/german electronics label Sky Records. The album features David Torn and Jonas Hellborg. B1 is a dance track with an open beat, emotional synthesizer melody, and an uplifting electric guitar solo by David Torn that builds up to an ethereal melancholic synth melody and a heavenly sense of soaring flight. The album features a pure electronic sound that liberates the spirit, with a solid beat sensation that makes heavy use of synth drums and Steve Roach's trippy synth work.
