The first album under the Peru moniker—a project by Dutch synthesizer musicians Ruud van Es, Peter Kommers, and Rob Papen, who have also released works under names like Nova and Aurora—is their most serious and spiritual endeavor. Featuring pure electronic music crafted with an extensive array of equipment, the album transitions seamlessly from a meditative intro to euphoric synth beats, as exemplified in A3. A highlight is the three-part suite that spans the entirety of side B. From the opening section, where deep synth bass and vibrato-rich synthesizer melodies are accompanied by trippy sound effects, the track takes you on a cosmic journey, eventually arriving at an otherworldly utopia. This 20-minute exploration showcases a paradise-oriented vision of New Age electronics.
