A very rare copy is now in stock. Released in 1978, this album features electronic music by four Australian composers, Percy Grainger, Barry Conyngham, Tristram Cary, Warren Burt, and Darius Clyness. The record was produced under the auspices of the Australian Computer Society Incorporated, and all tracks were produced at the University of Melbourne Computer Music Project, recording studios at Latrobe University and the University of Adelaide, and final masters were produced at the University of Melbourne Electronic Music Studios. A1 is Percy Grainger's "Free Music I and II" performed by Barry Conyngham, using computer signal synthesis technology to create undulating electronic sound waves. A2 by Warren Burt is a highly improvisational piece created with a logic system that determines the range and limits of output, recorded on a cassette tape deck. B1 by Barry Conyngham is a direct digital synthesis using a program called Music 360 developed by Barry Vercoe, and B2 by Darius Clynes is a concrète work using voice samples and other signal processing. All the tracks are very interesting. Highly recommended.

A1: Barry Conyngham “Free Music I and II”
A2: Tristram Cary “Tracks from Divertimento”
A3: Warren Burt “Study for Symphony: August 9th”
B1: Barry Conyngham “Through Clouds”
B2: Darius Clynes “I am not a Computer”
