An album by Korean singer Lee Eungwan, who was born in present-day Icheon County, Gangwon Province, North Korea. In 1941, he won first place in the folk song category at the Cheorwon Railway Music Contest, officially beginning his career as a folk singer. He was designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Heritage in 1984, awarded the Bogwan Order of Cultural Merit in 1990, and the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit in 2014. This album features a collection of traditional Korean folk songs. Like female singer An Bichi, who has also been designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Heritage, Lee Eungwan performs with a distinctive vocal style characterized by unique phrasing and expressive vibrato, capturing the heart of Korea. The inclusion of traditional musical instruments makes this an exceptionally outstanding work.
