This is an album of classical music of the Orient, released from "The World of Folk Music: Earth, People, and Music" supervised by Fumio Koizumi, a leading ethnomusicologist in Japan, and music critic Touyou Nakamura. Focusing on Turkish folk string instruments, the album features solo performances of the khanun, a stringed instrument of the zither genus, the oud of Persian origin, the tambour, a stringed instrument of the lute genus, the kaman, a violin-like stringed instrument of European origin, the kemanche, a kokyu unique to Turkey, and the ney, a wind instrument found in many Islamic countries. This is an extremely amazing work, as it is rare to find a sound source that allows one to enjoy solo performances by legendary players of the unique musical scales of the almsgiving method. Recommended for all.

A1: Erol Deran “Solo de Kanun”
B3: Hayri Tumer “Solo de Ney”
