This is an album of music from the Bahamas in the West Indies, released in 1978 on the long-established American label Nonesuch's World Folk Music/Local Recordings series <Nonesuch Explorer Series>. The music, which I believe to be Bahamian religious songs and street music, is very similar to American roots music such as gospel, blues, soul, jazz, country, etc., all of which are very similar to the music that came from the U.S. and developed in its own way. I am interested in the historical background of this music, which I believe was introduced from the U.S. and developed in its own way. The songs and performances themselves are simple and very attractive. The lyrics probably have something in common with gospel and blues.
