The fourth installment, released in 1980, of a collection series compiling original compositions by shakuhachi player Hozan Yamamoto, who made great achievements through his contemporary activities in addition to traditional performing arts. Tadashi Sawai, Chieko Fukunaga, Kiyomi Ishigaki, Seizan Ishigaki, and others participate. This work features a sound world full of Hozan's unique spirituality, transcending the boundaries of classical music and pursuing modern Japanese music, with pieces not only for shakuhachi but also for koto solo, short pieces for koto and shakuhachi, and a small suite for koto and jushichigen. Particularly outstanding are A3, an improvisation titled "Tabinatsukashi," a free-form improvisational performance of over 10 minutes by Tadashi Sawai on koto/jushichigen and Hozan on shakuhachi and Indian flute, and B3, a deep spiritual duo of over 13 minutes for koto and shakuhachi.
