This is the seventh release in 1985 in a series of compilations of original compositions by shakuhachi player Hozan Yamamoto, who has made great achievements not only in the classical arts but also in his contemporary activities. The following pieces are included in this series: Shakuhachi Duet A2, which has an impressive rhythmic melody with a variety of tangings; Shakuhachi Solo A3, which was composed as the third piece of "Four Seasons of Bamboo" and has a naturalistic expression that evokes the sound of cicadas and a festival; Shakuhachi Solo B1, which is composed with an octave technique with repeated slow and fast movements; Shakuhachi Quintet B3, which depicts yin and yang by contrasting scales, and other pieces that are based on classical elements such as folk songs, while at the same time incorporating rich expressions as if in dialogue with nature.
