This album was released in 1981 by Keiko Abe, a world-renowned marimba player who emerged in the 1960s. She plays pieces for solo marimba performance written by contemporary composers such as Akira Miyoshi, Minoru Miki, Shinichiro Ikebe, Yoshihisa Taira and Yasuo Sueyoshi. Please listen to the score A3 by Shinichiro Ikebe, which uses special mallets to produce snare-like blows, and which progresses in a slow and steady manner between fast melodies and silence, like waves, and the score B3 by Yasuo Sueyoshi, which is played with a soft touch, as if emitting a drone, and which gradually emphasises the attack. It's very pleasant.
