This album was released in 1967 from JVC's "Contemporary Japanese Music: Three Artists" series. The theme of the album is contemporary music with Japanese classical instruments. Included are the historical masterpiece "Eclipses" by Toru Takemitsu, "Music for Four Faces of Koto" by Yoshio Mamiya, and "Poem of Wood and Stone" by Masao Matsumoto. A1 "Eclipses" is performed by biwa player Kinushi Tsuruta and shakuhachi player Katsuya Yokoyama. The second piece, "Poem of Wood and Stone," seems to be the most Japanese melody.
A1: Toru Takemitsu “Eclipse for biwa and shakuhachi”B1: Yoshio Mamiya “Music for 4 kotos”
