Inez Jones
Have You Met Inez Jones…?
Fresh Sound Records (Spain) 1990
FSR-411 (LP) coated sleeve.
sleeve : EX-(light color-faded.)
media : VG+/EX(side A has some noises.)

A jazz singer from San Francisco, Inez Jones was active for a short period in the 1950s, leaving behind a few singles and albums. Released in 1957, this is her first and only solo album. Accompanied by a quartet featuring Oscar Moore (g), Carl Perkins (p), Curtis Counce (b), and Bill Douglass (ds), the album was recorded in a Hollywood studio that same year. Although uncredited, it appears that Leroy Vinnegar (b) plays on tracks A4 and B3. This masterpiece showcases Jones' husky and sultry vocals against a backdrop of smooth, West Coast-flavored performances. This is a reissue released in 1990 by Fresh Sound, a Spanish label. Some parts on side A contain slight buzzing noise, likely due to issues with the master recording or pressing.
