This is a 1975 album by American saxophonist Lew Tabackin, who had been active since the mid-1960s, performing with orchestras led by Maynard Ferguson, Cab Calloway, and Thad Jones–Mel Lewis. Recorded during his 1974 visit to Japan as a member of the Toshiko Akiyoshi Quartet, this was his first leader album, featuring a trio with Bob Daugherty (b) and Bill Goodwin (ds). The album was produced by Akiyoshi herself. Highlights include A2, a bossa jazz piece with a refreshing flute melody and a relaxed rhythm, and B1, a dynamic and fast-paced arrangement of an old standard. The album consists of both classic standards and original compositions by Tabackin and Akiyoshi. This is the original Japanese pressing.
A2: Morning
B1: Bye Bye Blues
