The Dutch jazz quintet Mamadeus, led by Peter Weekers, a brilliant reed player known for his outstanding solo work, released this album in 1983. The track A3 begins with the gentle melodies of vibraphone and xylophone, transitions into a meditative middle section, and then unfolds into a primitive percussion beat, creating an organic jazz experience. Track B1 is equally impressive, with its mysterious atmosphere yet underlying warmth. This album is a hidden gem, blending the experimental jazz and contemporary music sensibilities of ECM with an organic, New Age ethnic jazz aesthetic.
