It is a collaboration between lead musician Mark Isham—who has released numerous high-quality works from Windham Hill—and jazz pianist/drummer Art Lande from New York. The album showcases a refined sound that only multi-instrumentalists of their caliber could create, blending beautiful, New Age-inspired tones with minimal contemporary compositions. Highlights include A1, where a primitive 16-beat rhythm, merging machine drums and live drums reminiscent of Michael Shrieve, forms the backbone for the trumpet and piano to float gently above. A2 delivers a deep, floating atmosphere evocative of Aqua Sanza, the masterpiece by Jasper Van’t Hoff and Markus Stockhausen. B1 features a grand, breathtaking progression reminiscent of Tibet, one of Mark Isham’s acclaimed releases on Windham Hill.
