This was featured in the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION. This masterpiece duo album, released in 1987. It is a collaboration between lead musician Mark Isham—who has released numerous high-quality works from Windham Hill—and jazz pianist/drummer Art Lande from New York. The album showcases a refined sound that only multi-instrumentalists of their caliber could create, blending beautiful, New Age-inspired tones with minimal contemporary compositions. Highlights include A1, where a primitive 16-beat rhythm, merging machine drums and live drums reminiscent of Michael Shrieve, forms the backbone for the trumpet and piano to float gently above. A2 delivers a deep, floating atmosphere evocative of Aqua Sanza, the masterpiece by Jasper Van’t Hoff and Markus Stockhausen. B1 features a grand, breathtaking progression reminiscent of Tibet, one of Mark Isham’s acclaimed releases on Windham Hill. With an exquisite sound quality that captures even the most delicate nuances, this is an original German pressing.
