Released in 2018 in a limited edition of 500 copies, this mini-album documents four special session recordings made in 2016, led by legendary bassist Ron Carter and featuring a superb lineup including percussionist Airto Moreira and drummer Peter Erskine. Highlights include the cool jazz-funk tune A1, composed by pianist John Beasley; the mellow Brazilian-flavored A2, written by singer Lorenzo Buhne; and the gentle, understated B2, composed by drummer Matt Mayhall. Throughout, the album beautifully captures the exchange between a true master and a younger generation of musicians. Pressed at 45 rpm, it also offers excellent sound quality.
