This was an album released in 1969 by the Art Ensemble of Chicago, an American Chicago group comprising Lester Bowie, Joeph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell and Malachi Favors, whose free/experimental jazz was rooted in traditional African music. Although it has long had a reputation for being theatrical music with a storyline as if you were watching a play, it is rebel music that cannot help but have a witty satire and a strong message, AEOC style, against slavery and black racism. How you listen to it is up to you, but in any case it's a very high level of music. Highly recommended. This is a Japanese reissue in 1984.
